Major Functions of the muscular system include:
- Movement: Muscles are the only tissue in the body which contracts allowing different parts of the body to move.
- Posture: Contraction as well as relaxation of muscles allows us to keep a upright posture that we are used to.
Muscle Types:
A)Skeletal:
Muscle that is connected to the skeletal system that binds to form a part of the mechanical aspect which controls movement.
B)Smooth:
Muscle that is found in the aligning walls of organs like our stomach, bladder, and blood vessels. This muscle is mostly involuntary which means it works subconsciously without you having to think about it.
C)Cardiac:
Muscle that is specific to the heart. Also working as an involuntary muscle this fiber can be found in the walls of the heart and this is what helps pump blood through our body.

How does it work in conjunction with other body systems ?
A)Digestive Sys:
There are smooth muscles aligning the walls of our small and large intestine which help us digest food and also in the process of guiding the food through the whole intestine.
B)Nervous Sys:
Muscles are important to the nervous system because they work very closely together receiving and sending electrical impulses from the brain and interpreting them as movement which our muscles control.
C)Skeletal Sys:
Probably the most important duo. Muscles help in the movement of all individual 206 bones which are attached to bones through ligaments and tendons, all of which provides us our balance, ability to withstand impact, and generating force.
